The 9th DTTG Workshop is history!

The 9th DTTG Workshops was successfully held at the Research Institute for Glass – Ceramic in Höhr-Grenzhausen (FGK) and the Koblenz University of Applied Science – WesterWaldCampus. We were happy to welcome 16 participants and 12 lecturers from industry and academia with a diverse professional background, from the cement industry up to additive manufacturing. During the week, which was fully packed with lectures and practical exercises, the participants got the chance to deepen their knowledge in basic as well as advanced techniques in clay mineral characterization and quantification. The topics included Rietveld modeling of XRD patterns, as well as several other methods such as FTIR, CEC, STA, chemistry of clay minerals and electron microscopy. As the FGK is an applied R&D facility working in the field of ceramics and applied mineralogy, there were also lectures dedicated to applied clay science. The FGK would like to thank alle the lecturers and the participants for contributing and actively participating in the workshop and we are happy to welcome you all again in 2023!
