Prof Dr Jan Werner studied chemistry at the Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel. After three years as head of the Biomaterials working group at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, he moved to the FGK in 2001, where he works as Scientific Director and head of the Functional Ceramics working group. In 2016, he was appointed honorary professor at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences.
