Preparation technology and thermal process technology infrastructure measure for innovative high-performance ceramics
The aim of the infrastructure project is to expand the facilities in the area of preparation technology and thermal process technology. The project is based on the increased demands placed on the FGK by industry and the associated expectations of modern, high-performance equipment for innovative development work. The infrastructure measure focuses on meeting the technical requirements in the field of high-performance ceramics (Process and Application Technology Ceramics working group; Optoceramics and Photocatalysis working group) and thus goes hand in hand with the FGK’s Strategy 2020. The Raw Materials working group also plans to use the units beyond this. The measure includes the procurement of state-of-the-art and innovative processing technology (high-energy ultrafine mill, acoustic mixer and spray freeze dryer) and thermal process technology (high-temperature inert gas furnace and rotary calcination furnace). The procured equipment is to be installed in the new institute building, which will be occupied in 2013.
